Abdul Rahman T. Al-Ansary, Professor.

Since 1966, Al-Ansary worked at King Saud University, first in the
Department of History, then in the Department of Archaeology and Museums. A
Professor of Archaeology since 1978, his interests focus on the
achaeological studies of the Arabian Penensula, especially ancient Arabic
inscriptions. Over the period of 1994 through 2001, he served as a member of
the Saudi Shoura (consultative) Council. He is also member of the Supreme
Council of Archaeology, the Higher Commission of Tourism. Professor
Al-Ansary is also the Head of the Scholarly Committee for the Reference Book
in the History of the Arab Nation (a publication of ALESCO: Arab League
Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization), and member of the Committee
of the Encyclopedia of Arab and Muslim Figures (to be published by ALESCO).

Dr. Al-Muaikel has been faculty member of the Department of Archaeology and
Museums, King Saud University, since 1989. An Associate Professor since
1995, he is now the Chair of the department. His scholarly interests focus
on the Islamic archaeology of the Arabian Pennisula, particularly those of
the early Islamic period.

Dr. Al-Sharekh has been faculty member since 1996 in the Department of
Archaeology and Museums, King Saud University. His scholarly studies focus
on the theoretical and practical dimensions of Archaeology and the
Pre-Historic Archaeology of the Ancient world. He serves as an affiliated
consultant at the Authority of Archaeology and Museums, Ministry of
Education, and is currently the head of the archaeological project of Al-Thumama
Archaeological Site (funded by KACST: King Abdul Aziz City for Science and
Technology). Additionally, he is contributor to the Space Atlas Project of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
